Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Located in Lapeer, MI, this contracted position offers an opportunity to serve K-12 students as a Mental Health Specialist during the 2025/2026 school year. The role focuses on providing essential social-emotional support directly to general education students individually and in groups, as well as contributing to broader schoolwide initiatives such as professional learning and positive behavior programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver social-emotional interventions to K-12 students in general education settings.
  • Support classroom and building-wide initiatives including professional development and positive behavior support implementation.
  • Collaborate with school staff to promote mental health awareness and student well-being.
  • Provide confidential counseling and resource referrals as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree holder with one of the following credentials or licenses:
    • Licensed or limited licensed Masters level Social Worker (LMSW), School Social Worker, Psychologist, School Psychologist, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Professional Counselor.
    • Michigan Department of Education (MDE) credentialed Masters level School Psychologist.
    • School Counselor License (SCL) or related Michigan teaching/credential endorsements with required progress toward professional licensure.
    • Licensed Bachelor Social Worker (LBSW) enrolled or planning to enroll in LMSW/LLMSW program within 24 months.
  • Must possess or be eligible for the required LARA license.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a school environment and maintain student confidentiality.
